This post brought to you by ClickBooth. All opinions are 100% mine.

ClickBooth is a dominant player in the Affiliate Marketing space, and works with the industry’s largest advertisers, including many Fortune 500 companies, giving their affiliates access to quality and exclusive offers that guarantee the highest payouts. But ClickBooth doesn’t want to known as just another Affiliate Network.  Ever trying to up their game, they have come up with an over zealous plan: compete with Google’s AdWords. But can this amateur lightweight duke it out with the heavyweight champion in the AdWords ring?

Generally known as THE search engine, it may surprise people to know that AdWords and not search is Google’s flagship advertising product and main source of revenue. Google’s total advertising revenues were $23 billion in 2009. AdWords offers pay per click (PPC) advertising, and site-targeted advertising for text, banner, and rich-media ads. To up their firepower and compete with them, ClickBooth has brought in big gun Tom Haney, veteran cost-per-click executive, having worked with AOL Inc. and CompuServ. The plan of attack is not to focus on their pool of  70,000 affiliates, but to leverage  the CPC model on the 1,000 or so of most trafficked websites in North America.

This specialized business model, called Clickbooth CPC could become a industry game-changer as it will directly compete will Google AdWords.  You will see Google Ad Words ads as well as ClickBooth ads on the same sites from time to time, with a little message at the bottom of the ad saying “Powered by ClickBooth.” At present, ClickBooth’s new program is in private beta, but will soon be open to their their affiliates in Google AdSense  fashion.

Never adhering to the industry “mold” most CPA and CPC networks form, ClickBooth is taking an innovative approach to affiliate marketing. Google AdWords, Meet Your Competition: Clickbooth. Will ClickBooth CPC be able to compete on the same level as Google? They certainly hope so. But only time will tell who wins this fight…

5 Affiliate Marketing Product Mistakes

by on March 12, 2010
in Super Affiliate Training

mistake, jpgMany affiliate marketers today are facing the problem of not knowing which particular affiliate products to promote because of the deluge of products available. Here are 5 mistakes to avoid:

1. Focusing on the affiliate program not on the product

It really important for you to remember you will be marketing a product and not an affiliate program. Don’t overlook a program because many affiliates are working it. Thats actually a good thing – it means it converts well.

2. Failing to invest in getting the word out

Use PPC wisely, feel free to experiment with Adwords and Adsense, leverage your email list. Pay attention to your response rate to see which specific marketing channels are more appropriate for the offer.

3. Ignoring the Search Engine Optimization Process

Sure you got your thin sites for the quick programs, and PPC works well for these. But for your special offers, focus on creating an authoritative destination and work on getting these to rank well. Ranking high organically provides free traffic (sort of).

4. Focusing on the product not on the site

Build a good landing page. Provide a relevant title and a clear call to action. More on landing pages in a future post.

5. Failing to keep up with latest news in the industry of your chosen products

Stay informed – in tune with the market, and stay ahead of the competition.
